If we could go back in time to two weeks ago, I would have preferred Johnny over Chucky. Sure, they both had terrific seasons, but I think that's mainly due to Sutter, whom I trust more. Rebuilding isn't this team's M.O., so hopefully we get a nice haul for Chucky and somehow luck our way to 1st overall next year! Hahaha one can only dream.

As much as I love both of those players I would prefer Chucky. He's a guy you can build around with a hockey mindset and leadership qualities. He has matured a ton under Sutter so I am hoping all of this "tkachuk wants out" is just Eric Francis being a complete twat.

Johnny's "goodbye" as well as his Chiclets interview pretty much summarized what I thought: he wanted more of a work/life balance and hockey was taking over to much for him. Can't fault the guy for that but looking at it from a team perspective you need the focus and dedication to be winners so I am happy for him to move on and get that in Columbus. I'm definitely in the "acceptance" phase of this break up.

That being said, if we lose Tkachuk we are officially fucked and Brad needs to be fired for setting things up to put us in this situation. Whether or not the player(s) leave because of him doesn't matter when he's fiddle fucked the contracts and negotiations with no apparent back up plan.

100% this, I totally get the family aspect, he played here for a long stretch and has the right to move on but for caring so much for the city, fans and organization, he fucked us.

If he was 80/20, 70/30, 60/40, whatever it may be on the high side of leaving, he should have made the decision earlier. But hearing him speak about the situation over the past week just makes me realize he's a dummy. Is what it is at this point.

This. Because of this all the players that we signed who want to play on a competitive team are going to be mad or want out, and I don't blame them. We've been dying for a goalie for years and now we are going to waste Markstrom's talent and time.
