How does this benefit either team? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Calgary - Not tanking and cannot afford to lose their top point-getter. Eichel likely won't play until next season.
Buffalo - Wants to tank now and get a lottery pick. Getting Johnny might hinder those plans and thus, miss getting first overall again. Not to mention they probably have little chance to re-sign him.
I don't see how this makes sense for either team.

So Buffalo, no that would not make sense. Eichel is worth so much more than a single mid round first pick.
Calgary, that would be one of the biggest robbery trades I could think of if you could trade JG + mid 1st pick for one of the best Centers in the NHL. That trade would pull all that money off the cap this year too for LTIR (Flames could then pick up huge rentals without having to trade high picks for salary retention) and even if Eichel doesn't play this year it looks like they still have a competent squad to sneak into playoffs with how awful the division is looking. Or alternatively he's ready for playoffs, flames get in, suddenly you've just added a 1st line center who is definitely better than any player currently on the flames roster. So how that wouldn't be perceived as a massive win baffles me.
Oh and before another moron thinks I'm suggesting this trade would happen, no I'm not (Suntan). If it was JG and picks, I would suspect those picks would be 3 Firsts and 2-3 Second rounders.
I have ankle immunity because I've been a fan since '85 and watched games in the Saddledome during the Young Guns era.

So flames are in first place in the division. Time to start trading away Johnny, Monny and Tkachuk.
I don't even know how to process this situation. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Markstrom is playing unbelievable. 3 shut outs in his last 4 starts is insane. Our top two lines also haven't been score on on 5v5 yet this year. Sutter FTW.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

It’s nutty. They are playing great, fun to watch and aren’t giving up many rushes. Keep it up! We don’t need jack.

Shit, there's only 49 users here, I doubt we'll even break 100
Now that we have a good start to the season, there is more pressure not to get Jack i think. Since he wont be able to help at all this year.
I'd still be on the trade Tkachuk wagon
In other news, water is still wet.
Its been down to Vegas or Calgary for months...
While that might be true, he's not coming here unless Johnny or Monny is in that mix. Tkachuk isn't going anywhere
I have been on the get Eichel train all along, I just hope he's willing to play in Canada
What’s it gonna take? Monny, kyllington? 1st and 2nd?

My guess
Valimaki
Dube
Pelletier (Zary)
Cap dump (Zadorov?)
1st
2nd
For
Eichel
Another lesser piece
Or a third team gets involved and the main piece from the Flames is Monahan which will be flipped to third team for additional assets to Buffalo.
whether we sign Johnny and trade him or Buffalo does. And a first round pick for sure. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
With a pending surgery and no guarantee that Eichel will play this year that seems fair.
I genuinely don't believe Johnny is going anywhere. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
In fact I think the Flames are using acquiring Eichel as a sweetener to have Johnny stay and sign $8.5mil/8 yrs
