Whole team looked like shit in the playoffs, hard to single out one player as being particularly bad when everyone was bad.
Regular season performance does not matter. So many great players disappear in the playoffs.
I thought it started with the Flames' goalie sucking hard and then the whole team just lost confidence as a result. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Seems to me that the Aves focused solely on McDoofus and let the German doof do his thing. Going forward that would be a good strategy against Oilers should another boa happen.
I was just singling out Tkachuk because I was asked why I thought Huberdeau was better than Tkachuk. I agree there were other problems with the team, particularly against Edmonton. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I don't care who is better between hubie and chuck. Literally makes no difference to my opinion on this trade.
Well, I'm not going to be in a position to dispute anything you've said, since I rarely watch full Flames games since it isn't really my main team. I suppose I did see some ill-considered plays in the playoffs, but generally thought he played alright. If what you say is true, then I suppose I can see where your perspective is coming from. To be truthful, I was basing his play not as much on the eye test as I was the deep stats - which indicate that both his Fenwick and Corsi numbers are consistently very strong. Not sure how that's possible if he coughs up the puck as much as you say. (And yes, I did read the part that his teammates cover for him. They must have done an awful lot of covering to get the stats he has)This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
And let's not kid ourselves - unless you're a Florida fan and followed Huberdeau closely, I imagine it's easy to miss the faults he has of his own.
In any event, it's time to move on and close this door - what's done is done. At least we can take comfort that the team came out on the other side pretty decently and aren't completely decimated as it originally seemed they may be.
All I said was we won the trade at a bare minimum. You guys demanded the novel from me haha.

At least they re signed my fave player Zadorov but wonder who they gonna pair him up with now. Loved watching him and Gudbranson out there last season. Powers of Pain!!

Shit, there's only 49 users here, I doubt we'll even break 100
They removed Zadorov’s goal song from the flames website after Russian invasion. He hasn’t scored since then so wasn’t sure if is website or at the game too. Patiently waiting. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Never heard of him
Can you imagine if JH produces more to prove a point now that a flame has been lit under him. While MTK productions drops dramatically without JG. Really hoping this to turn out to be a Martin st louis story where Florida moving him at the worse possible time. Sometimes I wonder if the cup follows a player rather than a team.
I remember hearing JH during initial interview that he appreciates a team that wants him. So its payback time with the recent signing.
"Huberdeau said. "I'm excited for this new chapter and I am committed to this team. I'll give everything I have, on and off the ice and I can't wait to play in front of the passionate Flames fans"
Good luck Johnny, reminds me of my previous favorite player Paul Kariya. Great player but just couldnt get it done.
