Watching his performance yesterday, you do see that his agility and talent keeps the other team on their toes for most of the 45 seconds... Though I agree he's a no-show during the playoffs, during the regular season he is quite effective in the "New" NHL.

Silky mits, crazy quick feet, lateral agility and very decent vision. BUT G'damn it, put some mustard into your shot... He definitely doesn't have full out speed, but his ability to out accelerate his opponents and tight turns are ridiculous, yesterday I didn't see anyone (Josi, Benning, Ekholm) ever come close to catching him when he goes on the outside.

I think pairing Gudbranson and Zadorov is a mistake. I like having the heavy weight in the back end but they need to split the pair them with some puck moving defacement - Hannifin/Anderson

Tanev is probably the most Textbook defence man I've seen in a long long time. He's a defensive coach's dream and seems like a true leader on/off the ice.

I'd keep Chucky and the rest rather then Eichel if we're giving up that much.

And I dont think Johnny has every been rumored to be in a potential Eichel trade. Its been circling around Monahan, Valimaki, Dube, Mangiapanee, Kylington and now Chucky + prospects/picks.

Agreed, but the biggest issue for me is if Eichel can stay healthy. Knowing that Chucky is due for a raise around 9-10m/year Eichel is the better deal. But with that many throw ins... it's hard to justify.

Mine and every hockey friend I know/group chat echo this same statement. Yesterday spittinchicklets is throwing rumors that its Tkachuk + a current 1st round player + former 1 round + picks. Then wake up to see this shit.... it's like damn, Dube + Valimaki + Zary or other alternative prospect + picks and Big Z for salary balance should have easily got this done. Either Buffalo was throwing out fake shit to bump up the price and Calgary wasn't that interested after all or something weird went down.

Yes I am sure that is the thought process here. However Eventually they need to shed some salary. They are operating at 91 Mil right now and the Cap is not going to go up significantly anytime soon.
