What kind of education do you need to be an Instagram ass model ? Sorry I mean influencer. Cause that’s what kids want these days … not a real job … blue or white … collars don’t look cool in a thong

Standard USA white people will circle jerk jobs by making them more expensive in dollar terms. Sell a 200 decibel "stealth" fighter jet in return for some $10,000 toilet seats for NASA. Pay the cleaner $5.50 per hour. Its an amazingly pyramid system bordering on human rights abuse as wage slavery.

Standard China asian people will circle jerk jobs by undercutting price. Honguang Mini EV cabrio (absolutely fabulous looking vehicle, that if a European design patent, would charge 20x more) for $4,500. Tablet computer with 5G for $40 is too expensive. $1 million for a house is a bargain. Everyone gets a bicycle or scooter.

Both are valid, but I tend to prefer efficiency to waste.

    Like TCT, and GE?

I don’t see them hiring like crazy. Do you mean steam turbine techs?

Either way, I don’t see it.. and I work shoulder to shoulder with them.

    Edit: maybe I’m blind? Shrug.

What other "blue collar" jobs are like that, and which seem "least worst" in terms of pay or enjoyment or lifestyle?

If you had a teenager considering career options, what would you suggest to avoid or persue?
Literally any trade in military is short.
Pros: paid to get a skill, easy $70-$75k with full benefits, 25+ days off a year after 5 years. Almost impossible to get fired. Unreduced pension after 25 years. Retire at 43 if joining out of high school.
Cons: could be rapey, posting locations generally suck, it’s the military.

The military is perfect for people who don’t like to think for themselves.

Early retirement with full pension, then come back and do the same job as a contractor for more money while collecting pension is a real thing though.

Go there, do this, don't think about the shitty consequences.

I wouldn't be able to do it. I thought of applying for CSIS back in the day as well but then I realized most foreign policy is absolute BS that I wouldn't be able to support intellectually and it would probably lead to misery/depression.

A military career could be interesting right up until you remember that we live in useless fucking Canada.

Yeah, by the time they hit retirement... but at no point before that.

During school, I worked with trades (telecomm electrician and linemen) on a military base one summer (team mixed between full time forces members and civilians). Some great people, but definitely a different mentality.

Steamers too, APM Canada redonkulously busy right now.

TCT are an anomaly, due to their revolving door policy but GE have just employed another 2 guys this week, one mechanical and one controls, so far as I've been told

What sort of position are you in? Have we met and haven't connected screen names? Like me and @Tik-Tok in the covid thread

That would be funny. I doubt it though, I’m one of them blue collar folks, with a white stripe.
