That's why you get multiple free PCR tests. Or get the free PCR and have a backup plan like the one you did at LAX. Your worst case scenario in this case was $200 at LAX and I hope it was part of your plan. Always have a plan B or C.
The LAX test was definitely the fall back, just sucks having cancelled a $90 test to get the free one to then just pay $200 in the end despite promises we would get the results within 48 hours. Our free tests didn't arrive for 5 days haha.

Hopefully with the new vaccine eligibility (5-11) they no longer have to miss 2 weeks of school after travel.. thats really got in the way of travel.

Even if kids test negative coming home they have to quarantine for 2 weeks?

AHS daily checklist is reasonably clear that they do.

That Screening form is for 18 and under, and currently 12-18 can be vaccinated. So even a vaccinated youth that tests negative still has to quarantine? That doesn't seem to make sense.....

AHS does update that form regularly. You call em and let them know.

"Making sense" has been the round pillow of virtually all travel restrictions & policies for the last 20 months.

*Where "round pillow" is the polar opposite of cornerstone.

Even people who agree with the majority of government actions admit that many are hard to make sense out of.

People are all for restrictions on other people right up until they realize they affect their lives too

Lol. Name one government mandate in the last 2 years that has made sense.

Friend of ours that just got back from Mexico via Cancun/Mayan area. Said the whole testing thing seems like a big scam so expect to pay double. For them they tested positive on their first test(which was obvious BS), so then they were directed to some back alley place where they paid cash again to get their negative tests. Hope I have better luck when I go in February.

This is a weird one because it contradicts this that states, “ Alberta no longer has provincial quarantine requirements for international travellers.
Federal border measures and quarantine laws still apply for all international travellers entering Canada.”

    https://www.alberta.ca/isolation.aspx#requirements

On the federal site it states fully vaccinated do not need to quarantine for 14 days. There is an additional section for 12-17 year olds which states, “ Unvaccinated and partially vaccinated youth 12 to 17 years of age are subject to the 14-day quarantine”. To me that implies anyone who is fully vaccinated does not need to quarantine regardless of age.

Someone can correct me if I’m wrong but from my interpretation anyone who is vaccinated, regardless of age is exempt from quarantine.

There's a difference between mandatory quarantine and needing to stay home from school.

Are you getting your information from Facebook or something?

Nowhere current does it state mandatory quarantine or stay home from school at all. You’re referencing outdated material.

Daily checklist updated September 2021 directs people to the federal site.

“ If you have traveled outside Canada in the last 14 days, follow the Government of Canada Travel, Testing, Quarantine and Borders instructions, including any requirements for exempt travelers related to attending high- risk environments.”

You are correct sir, I was using an outdated daily checklist. I retract and rescind all my erroneous posts.
