Gives a new meaning to fair weather fans.
I'm the very definition of a fairweather fan. Watch when your team is good, or the weather is bad.

Never watch losing hockey. And never sit inside watching other people in shape on TV while you get fat.

Well that aged poorly. Given Florida's firepower, I would never have guessed a sweep. I thought Tampa even winning the series was a stretch.
My brackets are busted. I loaded up on florida players. Vasilesky is like Oettinger with a real team in front of them

While, or are already? If you're already fat... you can still watch

This is what I should say "fatter". It accounts for already being fat.

Summer is here, stop sitting inside watching hockey. If it's cold as shit outside, may as well watch something on TV. But not when it's nice.
We’ve been hosting watch party outside for the neighbors. My kids even setup each seat with the towels we’ve collected at the games for authenticity haha.

Game time is actually 20 mins after listed time. I have no idea why.

This "SN Nets Big Board" featuring Powder and a black guy can suck my asshole.
It's nothing but a literal commercial for DorftQueens disguised as hockey commentary.

I'm moving my argument with Buster about the NHL favouring an Edmonton v Colorado Western final and accusations of tight calling benefiting the highest PP% teams to this NHL thread, because it is NHL and not Calgary specific.

At least going in to both series it wasn't even close.
I looked up the regular season PP% of the teams that made the playoffs to compare how that may have impacted their success.
I think it's inconclusive, at best.

In round 1 West and East:
3 out of 4 of the series on each side had the team with the better regular season PP% advance. So Buster is right!
Except... LA came in with the 27th PP% in the league and still pushed Edmonton to 7 games, Toronto was #1 overall and lost, also Nashville had a better PP% than Colorado but got swept.

In round 2, Florida > TB but still got swept while Blues > Colorado but still lost. Edmonton > Calgary and won and we find out if NYR's better pp will win/lose against Carolina tonight.

To start the playoffs, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Washington and LA had PP% in the bottom half of the league.

Someone look up the playoffs pp% to see if there's a trend, there. (But you kind of can't because they may not have had the same % during the first round).

I'm actually quite upset about this "added" segment. I'm okay with them sponsoring/advertising the broadcast, but dedicating 2/3 minutes of discussing gambling odds during it is complete horseshit.

And what the fuck is with the white guy?!? Does he not have lips? Did he lose them after welching on a sports bet?!
They should hire @Disoblige for this segment.

    Oilers' reffing luck is ending.
Obviously offside on Av's goal #3.

It's 12" away from being close.
They actually watched this on video replay and went "yo, that's onside, just like I called it"...

I explained to my kid (oilers fan ffs) that it was onside as Makar didn’t touch the puck until everyone tagged back, which made it onside. Screenshots won’t tell that story. It’s delayed offsides at the point of that screenshot.

TNT has great angles that showed it all. They called it offside. I called it onside, and they eventually figured out why it was onside.

My kids mad, and I love it.

    He was still in

    It was in

    He wasn't out

I'm confused what slogan we can rally behind to cry about. Anyone know a flames fan that can help out?

I found this from a usa hockey rule book, does NHL have a different definition? It only refers to the puck and not contact of the puck

    (a) Offside occurs when players of an attacking team precede the puck into the attacking zone. The position of the player’s skates and the position of the puck relative to the blue line are determining factors for an “offside” violation.
The position of the player’s stick shall not be considered in all instances deciding offside. A player is considered “offside” when the player does not have skate contact with any part of the Neutral Zone or the blue line when the puck crosses the determining edge of the blue line.

Consider the player "dumping" it into the zone with Nich offside and then Nich tags up before any attacking players touch the puck.
That's essentially what they're saying might have happened and that would be totally fair.
I severely doubt it and I see no angles to prove it. But if there are some, I'm all ears.
