    Default Mounting a ceiling hoist

Looking to mount a hoist on a finished garage ceiling.

Looks like something like this would be my best bet

Stupidity is a disease we all have, it's like a form of brain herpes. Outbreaks will occasionally occur.

I think @ExtraSlow might know something about this from his art room project.

You might want to get the 10' to break up the load across multiple trusses??

How much weight are you planning on hanging? Any more than 2-300 lbs I would use strut across the trusses with this small piece bolted across them. If you are around Cochrane I can give you a chunk for free. Most commercial / industrial construction guys have that shit laying around everywhere.

I had a Prof that was vehemently against vertical loads on trusses... I've put 80 pounds split between two but loading the piss out of one is a bad idea...
