Lots of openings for kids. You can tell people are nervous about it.
Immediately sign up my kids - No time to waste!
Probably sign up my kids, maybe not right away - Why rush?
Probably not sign up my kids - Don't see the benefit
I don't have kids, but I like polls.

I'm over worrying about what other people do in terms of vaccination. What I want now is vaccine availability and removal of restrictions. If unvaccinated people get seriously sick, that's sad on a personal level, but I don't think society can or should do anything about that. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Word from my wife is that the booking website was working well, and she got a preferred date and time for our kid without issue.

The problem is that removal of restrictions won't happen without vaccination numbers and with 50% of parents planning to vaccinate their kids, think that restrictions will go away if we can barely hit 80% of the population vaccinated? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. I don't think it matters really. The ICU numbers are more important, and kids arent really in the ICU unless they have other serious issues. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

All I know is what I WANT them to do, which is cut the damned restrictions, stop testing and move on. I think when ICU numbers drop, that will be a politically easier path to take, although like I said, I've stopped predicting governments. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. I can see parents thinking twice before letting their kids get the vaccination. My wife wants to wait even if it becomes available for our 21month old but we're both double vaxxed and wouldn't hesitate to take the booster.
What are you waiting for over 2 million kids have already got it ?This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I'm just sharing the feeling from many other parents as well. The virus does very little to children, in terms of sickness and symptoms. Dont get me wrong, my kid has taken every vaccination available to him from AH so we're definitely not anti-vax.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I think everyone shares the same mindset when the vaccine came out, no one wants to be the first to try it. I guess it's the same for letting their kids getting it?!
I literally don't even care anymore who else choses to get vaccinated. I hope nobody I know has a preventable serious illness, but I've exhausted my ability to give a fuck about it.
If anyone asks me, I reccomend that eligible children be vaccinated without delay. But I ain't working to convince anyone.

This leads back to what I said on October 22nd:
And it sounds like Alberta just, sort of, wiped part of D out insofar as they've indicated they won't restrict access to things from eligible, unvaccinated children. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
So, it's a selfish or altruistic approach. Or, an approach based on fear/reluctance because children are so precious.
One thing that helps with this is that the number of children 5-11 already vaccinated in the USA is >3,000,000 and they ain't exactly piling dead kids in the streets or Guillain-Barré en masse.
But still... I hear you. It sucks.
And the urgency isn't there since it's not mandated, yetThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Children aren't even at a high risk with this flu (i mean covid) it's rediculous making such a big push to an age group that it barely effects.
Do your kids get yearly flu shots too? My opinion of the covid vax for kids is the same as flu shots, which my household has never bothered with. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

One major part for us is that if they are vaccinated we can travel without them having to quarantine (stay away from school and activities) for 2 weeks after. If it helps reduce the small chance they get extremely sick even further... great.
Can't wait until AHS removes quarantine requirement for vaccinated kids. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
