With todays digital manipulation ability, no footage can technically be considered raw and unadulterated by the AI in some way.

Digital stabilization, compression techniques. None of it is technically admissable as infallable. Even the most expensive movie reel film is not infallable, especially the old stuff because it only captured (sometimes black and white) but less than 85% of the visible colour spectrum.

Example: Audrey Hepburn was obviously one of the most beautiful women ever to exist, but I do wonder what her skin tone was in her modelling years.

It doesn't need to be infallable to be admissable, just not manipulated knowingly or maliciously.

If it was resized though, thats a problem. But then again, its highly dependant on viewing device as well. If you look at a video on Youtube in a window - it will automatically lower the resolution as opposed to a maximized 4K screen. If you look at a video on a tablet without Widevine, it will not display 1080. Maybe this was intentional on the defense part as well. Personally I think the defense is panicking a bit, if innocent on all counts, they might already have been done by now.

I can't see shit from the video to be honest, both Kyle and Rosenbaum were probably a few pixels big. They argued about it during examination about the authenticity and quality. The defense now found out that the copy they received is indeed a lessor quality version. Prosecution is using all kinds of excuse on airdrop and google box that the downgrading happened somewhere in between without their knowledge.

Jokes aside, Airdrop (with some exceptions such as new cinematic videos), Dropbox, Google Drive doesn't recompress. It's the original file 1:1. The prosecution says they emailed it from an Apple phone. Videos gets compressed over email with the iOS mail app. On wifi/5G it compresses it less than over LTE or lower. Without wifi/5G, it's potato quality, but not as bad as MMS green bubbles.

That's the technical explanation. Blame Apple not android (assuming Android sends video files unmolested over email).
