Not much to update of late.

Mocked up the fuel tank to make sure it'll fit.
    Removed old fuel line.
Installed motor mounts (loosely). What a pain that was, essentially had to drop the control arm on the passenger side as I just could not get 1 nut on. Going to make for fun times tightening up once the motor & trans are in place.

    Lots to do still:

    Make and run fuel lines
    Mate engine/trans and install
    Install intercooler and plumb coldside
    Build hotside
    Install holley terminator
    Among other things..

Pretty fond of the motor mostly in place, little problem as shown though.

Oil pan hits the crossmember, I bought a rep of the holley 302-2 pan because it was considerably cheaper and appeared to be the same thing. Holley pan is supposed to fit, so the rep will too right?

Wrong Going to notch and box the crossmember as a solution.

Got started on removing unnecessary wiring too. Computer looks good tucked in the glovebox.

Yeah, a pw pan. Oh well, it's not a big deal.

Nice to finally be making some progress. It's been on the back burner for too long.

Seeing an engine in its new home is motivating. Wait til you get the turbo on, you'll be extra motivated to get it going.

    It definitely is a motivator.

Following your crown vic thread was also a good motivator with your turnaround time.

Just ordered one of these, had one in my nova and liked it.

I wanted one of these horseshoe shifters but the car has no console and I really didn't want the headache of dealing with that this year. I really like the horseshoe style though.

Can't take credit for the welding work, my welding skills haven't been dusted off in many years haha.

Sentry makes us all look bad with how quickly he gets his projects wrapped up!

    That’s what I thought 6 times ago

Love the progress though man! Doesn’t cutting and welding factory steel make you squirm?! Haha every time I do I’m worried. My cars so far gone from factory it doesn’t matter and I still feel weird.

That was a test fit to find out it wasn't just going to drop in like it was supposed to haha.

Going to have to notch the bumper mounts for IC piping and the transmission tunnel took some good massaging for the 4l80 but otherwise shouldn't be much more altering.

I just want this thing ready whenever the roads are clean enough.

And yes, it makes me feel uneasy for sure. It's all going to be worth it, is all I keep telling myself.

PSA: Always check your parts. Bought this rad end of December but never opened the box. This isn't a dual pass rad with both inlet/outlet on pass side. So trying to deal with this a couple months down the road, fingers crossed it's painless haha.

If your welder bud can handle aluminum tig, you can turn it into a dual or triple pass pretty easily, just cut into the tanks and weld dividers in, change the location of the hose inlet/outlet if need be.

I've already reached out to the vendor. I also re-ordered the rad and if the proper rad shows up like it was supposed to, I'm going to repackaged the first rad sent in the new rad packaging and return it.

New rad should show up Friday - figure out a path forward from there.

Update: The vendor had inventoried the part number incorrectly, so the new rad I order will be incorrect as well. Vendor said to send both back, full refund no problems.

In turn, ordered another radiator today. Let's see if the right one shows up this time.

Test fit before getting fully welded out. Nice and snug.
