    Default 2021 christmas gift ideas?

I'm struggling here figure some of you guys are doing the same.

Kiddo wants a PS5. No offense to kiddo - but he's got a switch, that's good enough And he doesn't need more excuses for more screen time.

Been waffling between a mongoose e-scooter - figuring that'll get him outside more. They're 330$

Lego boost - because he adores the weekly 30 min programming lesson at school... And at least weekly he's crafting together some kind of robot. This ones 280$ which seems insanely high to me but it's lego so...
Also see it's on a couple of the 'in demand' christmas presents lists for this year - but still available on amazon.

We've done a bit of playground drone racing too - the weaving through the swings has resulted in some now borderline functional (toystore quality) quads, so maybe time to eyeball an upgrade. He loves those, and gets him out of the house (but not away from the screen).

Anyone run across something cool / found something the kiddo's really like to actually use (more than the box for crafts) to suggest?

What age is he? Also you mentioned a couple good ones already, the e-scooter is rad. And if he is into drones, maybe some other form of hobby-grade RC (off-road truck, etc.)?

Mine's 9 - but figured we needed a general thread since we're all going through this nightmare Once they're past that any cute toy phase it starts getting harder.

Yeah I kind of want to pick the e-scooter. But I don't know if that's just me imposing my desire on him; and will also take away from his actually riding a bike somewhere.

I've also pondered whether I should grab him an ender3 - since he's regularly borrowing my 3d printers. But that'll just turn into another machine for me to fix...

Maybe this is just me wanting to expand my knowledge past filament printing

Although the manufacturers claim "non-toxic" the UV resins are sensitizing and generally nasty chemicals. Definitely not kid appropriate.

My daughter is 11, not an easy age to buy for either.

Ouch my sympathies I'm even more clueless on girls. My 4yo is easy, if it's pink and sparkly or barbie branded she loves it... I hope she never grows up.

My 13 year old daughter made an extensive list of items she would like this year.

My 15 year old daughter doesn't like material goods, we got her a monthly Japanese candy box for her birthday. Not sure what to get her for Christmas.

I always liked the ideas of cameras for kids. My oldest is only 3.5 and they make little point and shoot cameras that only have a couple buttons on them. For older kids could step it up to a better one and then encourage nature photography? My kids love seeing the pictures I take of them so I figured it would be something neat for them to try on their own.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?
