    A second one in 200 year storm in the next six months? Relatively low, but not zero.

    What about east on the 3 to Keremeos then north on the 97 to Sicamous? Pretty much how it was done before the Coq opened...

    Edit - other than getting through Kelowna at a shit rate, it is a pretty easy route.
    That’ll be open by Sunday or Monday from what I heard. We ended up just betting on Highway 1 tho.

    Is it still once in 200 years if last one is only 30 years?

    200 => 30 => 5 years is the next 200 year flood?

    It is possible to have two unlikely events in a short time frame. That doesn't change the probability of the next one.

    It’s a real shame this didn’t happen during boating season to really make the British Columbians think about the value of hydrocarbon infrastructure.

    the gas restriction is laughable. Totally unenforcable, AND it is restricted to 30L per fillup. so get 30L, hang up the pump, fill up again...

    I think in general most will abide... Traffic today was probably lowest I've ever seen it. When I did gas up, there were some small car owners bitching about being cut off at 30L. The high volume nozzle diesel pump - just kept on going Diesel truck privilege? Fleet card? Apparently some of the retailers have some ability to automatically limit purchases...

    The accumulating stacks of stored sea-cans are getting pretty nuts though...

    Even a modest # of people complying makes a big difference.

    Same concept as Covid restrictions

    for a bunch of trucks my work needs their banking on highway 3 reopening first. They seem to think in the next 4 or 5 days but who knows. Question is what will the govt let on the road at that time?

    Im assuming theres going to be a priority to certain vehicles/products. So a reopening may not be much help for many businesses.

    A family member deals with cn and cp for a company dealing with crazy volume on the border. They won't have any updates until mon/tues and even then their not expecting much.
