We have a bunch of filthy east coasters around here. I'm sure they'll have opinions.

Eat Seafood and be cold. I know of nothing else worth seeing or doing within 2 hours drive of those places.

It's Fredericton, so doing meth is always an option.

Surprised the city hasnt decided to round all the meth heads up and then put them in the river or something. They bought the local strip club a few years back to clean up the city.

I don't know much about NB but this meth issue sounds hilarious! I'd never heard of that! Some of the only French people I know turn out to be NB and not PQ, so there must be a lot of them, there. The only other thing I know it's that their taxes fucking hate physicians. HATE. My friend (physician) from there literally clears an extra $100k in Alberta every year. I can't imagine how bad their remaining doctors are at math.

I'd focus on the seafood x2. I believe the most approachable raw oyster in the world is called a Beausoleil and I think that one is from NB. It's actually very good and a great chance to try while you're beside the water it came out of.
I bet there are still some "covered bridges" there that might be best to see... Neater if you were 90, but still unique.

My wife wants me to bring back live lobsters from NB - im hoping this is more of a nova scotia thing and doesn't exist as something you can actually take home in from SJ.

Oh, I'm sure there's a tank of them right in the airport. There sure is in Charlottetown. Do it. It's not a bad deal.
It's better if you know someone from there who can arrange to ship them live to you, but whatever.

I'm one of those filthy maritimers.

Everything is less than 5 hours away. When exactly are you going? Fall can be great because of the leaves changing color, but I think you have missed that boat. It snowed there today, summer is when you really want to go.

If you're going to be in Saint John, go to the Saint John City Market, Billy's seafood is right there also. They should be able to package up some fresh lobsters. If they don't, shoot me a message, I'll get my step-father to get you setup with some lobster fishermen to get them right off the boat. Packaging will be a PITA though.

I dont want to go to too much trouble since Im really there for work. Im going from this coming Sunday until December 1st.

Basically if the market can't package it so I can check it as luggage then I don't want to take any part of it. I came across billy's seafood last night when I was scoping out places to eat oysters. Im trying to imagine how cold it will feel out there and what sort of jacket I should be taking at this time.

If you want to bring back any seafood and can't arrange bringing it back on the plane with you, some retailers should offer shipping via AC cargo or courier services.

I've used both these in the past from PEI: https://mrseafoods.com/shipping.html and https://www.lobsteronthewharf.com/order_online.php

As far as going to PEI, eh this time of year would be meh, and I don't know what their current status is off the top of my head for visitors and if the PEI pass is still a thing.

Most of the maritimes look and feel similar once you drive around for a few hours.

    Step One

    Lower your expectations

    Step Two

Still end up disappointed, but in really bad French

I used to have a coworker bring back lobster from out east. As I was told, it’s sold in flight ready packs at or near the airport for carry on. They never check it in, because it typically gets lost/stolen on the layover. Not sure how accurate that is, but that’s what I’ve been told.

    It’s 100% accurate.

They have them all ready to go in little boxes that fit under the seat in front of you.

That said I can’t imagine airport lobster is any better quality than Alberta lobster

Your lobster package will be a carry on, if you check it, it will be “lost” somewhere.
