    Default "Legit" bagels in Cowtown?

Anywhere in Calgary do legitimate Montreal Bagels? Or just really good bagels?

The bagel place across from MEC is good. Not sure what style they are.

Wayne’s bagels are good too but it’s been so long since I was last there I can’t remember how they taste like.

Edit: Ha, the one across from MEC is Wayne’s. I’m thinking of their old location on Chinook.

This is likely not helpful however I've been meaning to check out Montreal bagels on Elbow and St.Lawrence Bagels in Bowness for the longest time

+1 on Wayne's. Like hurrdurr I've been meaning to check out Montreal Bagels on Elbow (right across the rd from Empire Provisions) but haven't had the opportunity yet.

Wayne's does em proper, boiled and wood fired.

I can see why this is up your alley as nothing beats a warm bagel and a Dilly Bar.

I don't know if it was the bitter -40c on the day that I tried St.Viateur but I just found them to be alright - Nothing to get excited over.

Excellent guys. my kids are weirdly obsessed with bagels so I want to have a little family outing somewhere good.

+1 Great bagels. They go stale fast though because they aren't full of preservatives. Can't buy a dozen and expect them to last the week.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

Def the best bagels ive found in the city. Better then the one across from Mec. Buy a dozen, eat one fresh out of the bag, have your breakfast, cut then freeze. they come back great from frozen direct into the toaster

Word. I don't think fresh bagels even last an entire day. Get there early for a fresh batch, the late day ones are disappointing.
I can eat more hot wings than you.

St Lawrence bagels on Parkdale (Memorial) just west of Crowchild are exactly like St Viateur's. Also cash only.
