Sounds like a shitty situation for the resort staff if it was an accident on their side, envisioning they put him in a choke hold to try and break up the fight/pull him back from whoever he was fighting and accidentally killed him.

Or maybe they went too ham and applied too much pressure on purpose because white devil, who knows without more details.

So, here's a question that came up recently. When dealing with hotel staff upon check-in, they always try to upsell you to a more expensive room. Sometimes those are worthwhile upgrades, so I consider their offers. A buddy of mine told me to take a big wad of cash and offer to pay for the upgrade in cash, and make two piles, "one for you my friend, and one for the room", and in that manner, basically bribe the guy into giving you an overall cheaper room upgrade than if you paid by credit card.

Sounds like a version of the vegas sandwich trick. My guess is that it's not really an effective tactic, but I'd be open to anyone who had more knowledge than myself. I don't much care how I pay for things, Pesos, USD, Credit card, hand jobs, whatever.

Never had this happen, but admittedly I don't stay in many holiday resorts

One time they did tell us our standard room wasn't ready as it had a "faulty AC" so they were upgrading us to a premium room for a couple of nights at no charge but we'd have to move rooms on day 3 - when we went down with luggage to change rooms, that was when they tried to upsell the premium room for the remaining 6 nights we barely spent any time in the room, so what am I actually paying for?

Going to Puerto Vallarta in June but in Punta Mita? Apparently it’s an hour from the airport, has anyone been? If so can anyone recommend a transport service? I’ve used Canada Transfers in Cancun before and they were great but it doesn’t look like they service PV.

I can’t recommend transport but have stayed in that area before. Beautiful little spot, take the public transport to Sayulita for lunch or dinner. Charming little surf town

Take an Uber from the airport. Half the price of a cab. The ubers are not allowed to come into the airport(but can drop you off there), you can catch them just over the bridge, just a short walk. We have used Uber for years in PV and they are much better than in Calgary. Careful getting taxis around Punta Mita. They know you are staying in a high end area and will jack the prices on you.
