BIMG formatting not sticking when editing a post?

I've noticed that if I used the [ bimg] tag in a post then go back and edit it later, the tags all change to [ img] in the post-edited post. I've only tried this with imgur links but its been consistent for a few months now.

If I remember right, img does the resize now, so we got rid of bimg.

Interesting. Bimg still works to make it smaller. If I use img the pictures I post are pretty big.

But getting rid of it would explain why it keeps reverting
