Default A thread about nzwasp's MIL

About a year ago, the generous @nzwasp gave away his vitamix for free (well, we exchanged a warm embrace and I offered a bottle of fine wine in return); and yours truly was the lucky benefactor. (thanks again!)

I have to say- it was offered as defective and in need of repair, but in my somewhat caveman estimation— this is easily the best blender I've had the pleasure of ever using. No such defects have troubled us. This has led to much debate within my household; why would someone give away such a fine appliance? Who is this mysterious man giving away expensive appliances? What would drive one to such madness.

I can only conclude it was to spite your MIL; to end her tyrannical reign of 6am smoothie making. Or was it something more sinister? I have no idea, but twelve months on, my curiosity is stronger than ever.

Do tell us @nzwasp - what's the REAL story of this blender. We're here for you- this is a safe space.

Actually its my wife that makes early morning smoothies, and she couldnt blend all her ingredients up. We have a new vitamix now. I dont think my MIL would even know how to use a blender let alone a vitamix

How does she manage to operate other complicated things like light switches and doorknobs?

If you'd like I'd be happy to blend your wife's bits up. It's really the least I could do.

If you ever need evidence of your correctness, in any context, here is photographic proof that the blender works fine.

With difficulty, my kids sometimes lock her in the basement with one of those push locks and the lock is on her side of the door.

hahah. man I feel for you. I sort of expect that we'll end up living with my MIL when my FIL kicks it, and I'm really not sure I'm man enough for it.

I actually think it's not really a MIL and NZW has a sister-wife situation, but one's a little older and he's embarrassed.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

For the headache she seems to be I would hope he's getting a little sister wife action
