Default European Energy Crisis, Foreshadowing for the rest of the world?

Europe is in an energy crisis of it's own making. They've shot down baseload power plants in nearly every country. Power prices are skyrocketing, and this winter people will die from a lack of energy to heat thier homes.

So, is this the future for North America too once our politicians have a few more years to work on it? Makes EV's seem pretty unaffordable.

The easiest way to make a population do what you want is to starve them.

Intentionally cratering your domestic industries such as steel production by artificially inflating energy input prices should be treason. Because when shit hits the fan, you need to be able to manufacture tanks n shit. God bless you, and god bless alberta.

Can you put some context on how these prices compare?

It won't happen here because another 30% of your revenue will go to taxes and the national industries that are being intentionally crippled will be nationalized after they fail.

And all these millennials whining away about not being able to afford houses will easily get a room in state housing!

Its all a part of the bigger plan to revalue the one world currency to the value of energy (not just oil)

I read that Russia turned the gas off to Europe tonight. You would think in the ~70 years since world war 2 they could of built a gas pipeline from North America to supply europe.

Or that second gas pipeline from Russia that they are begging to build. Europe is holding itself hostage.

Roughly 10x more expensive per watt than what the USA is right now. God bless Alberta cheap electricity.

Ontario has started to mothball a bunch of their baseload plants...instead of being at these plants 2 or 3 times a year for running time inspections we're going in yearly to see units with less than 100 hours on them...

But on the forecast, a lot of these companies are putting in renewables and then discovering that they don't have nearly enough capacity and having to throw in a couple of gassers or steamers to even it out

Alberta's spot price is around 100CAD / MWh (or roughly 10 cents / kWh). These prices would be 35-45 cents/kWh, though Europe has always tended to be higher in energy costs so not sure what 'normal' is over there.
