Europe may get away with it. Its nearing mid-october and its still balmy warm most of the world. Global warming after all.

NASA still needs to heat up the atmosphere with that moon rocket.

In a statement, the White House said US President Joe Biden was "disappointed by the short-sighted decision".

The US pledged to continue to release oil from national stockpiles "as appropriate" and look at other ways to try to rein in prices at the pump, which are a key issue for American voters in midterm elections scheduled for November.
Yet Biden doesn't see his move is also short sighted.
OPEC sees the chance of having their powers back and took it.

Why? Both Canada and the US are energy independent. Net exporters.

    We will be fine.

US moved the launch of Artemis until after the mid term elections. Because the optics of it at a time of worldwide energy crunch is bad. Will mom and pop farmers accept that they have to give up the family farm to support one man hitting greatness? This isn't the 1960's excess.

"All four core stage engines consume 1,500 gallons of propellant per second" and "730,000 gallons of liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen propellant needed for launch." - Artemis

As far as I can tell, the US response to global energy is: Get richer and buy it.

When I talk about KXL, I don't mean telling TC it's okay, I mean the us government giving guarantees and basically forcing TC to restart the project.
TC ain't spending thier own money on any more applications.

Unless Biden literally makes the US army put guns to the heads of TC's executives, they're not going to restart KXL.

    It was a facetious comment.

They're not going to restart KXL or offshore drilling and Biden will probably just jawboning OPEC+ for political points while pushing ridiculous vote-buying green policies that don't include the actual infrastructure spending they need so they'll continue to rely on OPEC+ more than ever.

Why do we need more pipelines if we are already massively a net exporter?

Why will there be a energy crisis.

    No one has explained.

one reason we need pipelines is to get our product to tidewater. We can then sell at market price, rather than taking the super discounted price the americans pay us. But the same americans that make $$$$ off of paying us discounted rate and transporting the discounted oil via rail don't necessarily want that to happen.

Another reason to get our products to tidewater is so we can be morally superior to climate scum like the australians. They are exporting coal out of their assholes to china who then burns it to produce power. If we can get our gas to LNG terminals, then we could lobby our WEF/UN overlords to pressure aus. to stop shipping coal.

So you think the tidewater thing is the only reason for the discount? That it is dirtier, heavier (like molasses) and needs to be thinned with gasoline to get through a pipeline has nothing to do with it? That it's harder to refine? That Alberta has no climate policy has nothing to do with it? Remember, Tech pulled out because we have no climate policy.

    Who would be our customers?

In terms of natural gas that is plentiful on every continent, and several planets, is it worth shipping such a low energy density gas across oceans?

Wouldn't exporting more raise domestic proces even more? The current market cost of electricity is 34 cents per kWh. That's gross. But because we have no domestic "protection" policy.

Keep in mind, methane burns cleaner than coal, but when it leaks into the atmosphere, it's is 50x worse than co2. This leakage is way under reported.
