Default Large Family Car - Poor People Edition

Remember when every family had a grand marquis or a cutlass or something? Ahh those were the days.

Anywhoooo, in 2022, what truly "large family cars" still exist. Whatever "format" you want, just needs to seat at least 5 plus enough luggage for a decent road trip, and cost under $50,000 so it's affordable for poor people.
Like Kia K5, or Sorrento, Honda Accord, Ford Explorer, that kind of thing.
I mean I'd love a long and low wagon to make this list, but don't think that's happening.

What's the biggest "family" car these days? What's the best? I'm sure this thread will just be arguments, but I find it entertaining.

I ended up with a rental Chevy Impala a couple years ago and it was surprisingly amazing. Sipped fuel, whisper quiet, roomy, reasonably powerful, decent stereo, intuitive controls and a trunk big enough for a dead hooker.
I was not expecting much, but it was honestly the best rental car I've had in several years. And, it's a long way from a hideous car considering the turds that have been coming out recently.

I have no idea what they cost, but it's got to be less than $50k

    A4 allroad starts at $51k?

V60 (reg or cross country) is the same price too… would be like a poor person car, since no options?

Allroad ends up being around 70k optioned out. It's not roomy enough for 5 adults, 4 is fine though.

The Dodge Charger has to be the reigning champ of the "cheap and large" segment. Under $40K for a basic-bitch V6/8spd SXT model.

I had no idea they still made that, thought it was phased out years ago, but good call. Dodge Durango is also a "big SUV" that is big on the inside, which somehow many others don't manage. Under $50k for base model too.

    Low tier Atlas.

Keep third row folded down. Lots of room in that one.

Chrysler 300 might squeeze under $50g as well.

We bought a Toyota Highlander back in 2013. It's still goin hard. Smells like spilled rotting ice cream and hand sanitizer but she still goes.

I'll sell it to you for 49,999 monies.

This! My brother actually has one (2015) that he bought for an "in between" vehicle when he sold his 335xi until he decided on what he wanted next... Almost 4 years later he still hasn't moved on haha and it looks sharp with the factory 19" wheels. It sucks that they stopped making them but it does make sense with the market moving towards crossovers etc. Cabin space is really good and as mentioned the trunk is massive. Even with the 4 banger engine in such a big car it's still got some pep to it.
