What do you mean by "needs SSD to clear off"?
Is this essentially bricked without it's original Harddrive?
Something like this would be ideal for me, but I need it to at least function enough to play videos and browse beyond

hence why im actually not sure its my friends mom sadly he passed away in July 2020 & his mom has no idea hence why its super cheap but honestly the thing thats worth it is the keyboard ..so buy it for the keyboard hence why its so cheap ...i know nothing about microsoft surfaces
