WTF... I thought this was just a highway driving thing but last night some guy was going about 15-20 km/h with his hazards on leaving Mahogany. I mean if you are having trouble driving faster than that on icy roads, probably best to just get a shop vac hose and route your exhaust directly into your cabin with the windows closed and the heat off...

Did a "quick" trip to Cross Iron this morning, and I could not believe how many cars had their hazards on, but no lights. It was ridiculous. Including even 18-wheelers, I think almost all the ones I saw had their hazards on just trucking along on the QE2.

This hazard light thing is the epitome of "Well, I'd feel better if..." and it's the same bullshit that enables all these fucking school buses drive around with that white strobe light on.
That light was intended to indicate "HoLy fUcK oUr bUs iS FuKd pLz HeLp uRgEnT!!!!!" and now it means the square root of fuck all.

This is the situation out here. I shovelled the sidewalks which have a thick layer of ice and then 10cm snow underneath. RIP my lumbar spine. My jacket and toque turned into ice.

Threw down salt which kept things nice for maybe 2 mins. More rain came down. It's now frozen again and skatable.
