Slippery in sections today with the new snow over top.
SE neighbourhoods way worse from my weekend experience.

I would say today is a dedicated winter/snow tire day versus Studs or Perf Winters.

Today was another relative shitshow. Not at all as bad as last Monday, but still way too many people evidently scared to drive, and it shows. They need Blizzaks too.
I almost got rear ended this morning on Glenmore. I hate other drivers.

PA5s still blows me away in how well it performs in days like today. Drove both dropping kids off this morning, the gap is marginal between the 2 cars. Not calling it a stud required day today for me.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

So many idiots on the road today who don’t have a clue what a snow brush is, how to drive anywhere near the speed limit and think four way flashers are a free ticket to be a moron.
Spatial awareness seems to be lacking too. People drive the same two/three/four lane road every day but as soon it’s snow covered, they become sheep following the one clueless guy who laid tracks down Thursday night.
I watched someone meander across three lanes today because that’s where the track was.
Come on folks…
Tomorrow will be the interesting one when temps dive and all this slushiness goes rock hard. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Revere diamond backflip interchange in Shawnessy.... FML. I'm buying a $500 beater and going to start just bashing into cars. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Having an external wastegate adds extra fun and satisfaction to passing inept drivers who've wandered out of their containment lane.
BRAAAAAAAAAAP
Yes. That's essentially the epicenter of what I've heard someone (not me) call Somalian Bumper Cars. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The Shawnessy diamond interchange has to be one of the most hare brained ideas this city has come up with. I avoid it as much as possible especially in winter due to the aforementioned SBC. Or more accurately for the area, Filipino Bumper Cars. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
SH-AWD + Toyo observe G3 winter tires is still working like a champ. The walnut microbit in the tire compound seems to work pretty well, not as good as actual studded though.
This morning wasn't bad, but with everything now frozen, it's an ice rink in many parts of the city. Driving to and from the NE wasn't fun. Crowchild was alright, winter tire crew in the fast lane going 100 from U of C to Crowfoot was glorious.2022-23 Winter Season Studded Tires Advantage so far: 3
Days Details: Nov 2-3, Nov 7

^^^Day 4 today imo. Deerfoot to DT from the nw burb was pretty decent but heading back to my shop it looked like a skating rink on deerfoot from memorial to 64.

Everywhere was fine on the all-weathers.
Alberta needs to follow suite with BC and make it mandatory for winter tires by Nov.1
BC has mandatory all season (M+S) tires. So basically that just means you can't run your PS4's in the winter. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
And the BC rule doesn't apply in the lower mainland / Greater Vancouver at all.
BC doesn't have mandatory winter tires. Some highways require "winter rated" tires (Mud & Snow, or Mountain with Snowflake symbol) which almost all name brand all-seasons have. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Also those ratings are horseshit. They only test for acceleration on snow, not turning, braking, or ice performance.
