Beware the passive aggressive Mean Girls. Vengie, Killramos, Penismightier, buster, jrscoolude, etc who bully others into their circle jerk opinion, serially negging you, while claiming they ignore you and don't obsess over you.

Weren’t you an engineer in a previous life? Didn’t know large vehicles were immune to the laws of physics

(Object in motion… large mass… etc)
I was referring to the amount of weight on the rubber compound. At some point a true winter tire would have no real advantage.
You are talking a 4000lb vehicle vs 40000lb.

My guess is the rubber required for vehicles of that weight need to be designed a certain way to function correctly.

I wasn’t suggesting it’s easier to stop a heavier vehicle.

City has tried winter tires on buses. They didn't help. Thing is this was done in the 90s when winter tires in general sucked so I would like them to try again but you know the city.

    Activate BC SNOWFALL FREAKOUT MODE.

There will be chaos on the roads, people jumping out of moving cars as they slide away, ice "bombs" falling off newly constructed bridges resulting in their closure (epic fail), and my schedule at work will thus be completely empty. Yay.

    Ice bombs:

gf is in Van and had a 5pm flight to come home tonight. WestJet has canceled almost all flights out of YVR after 2pm. They rescheduled her for Friday.

Praying for the Hastings Street tents. 15cm of wet snow and windy conditions...could clear that street faster than any police action.

Were British Columbians late on their carbon tax payments this year? Humanity can’t clearly adapt to EXTREME weather events.

Gonna call today a win for studs @rage2

If my wimpy subaru can spin my studded tires on """dry pavement""" she icy. Also saw some all season drivers that got punished today: a Mazda 3 that lost control in a straight line and stuffed it straight into the wall before calf robe, and immediately after calf robe a Honda Odyssey that lost it around the corner and ended up backwards in the ditch.

Weird. Deerfoot was fine when I drove on it at 7am. Left lane was dry as a bone. Did it snow again after that?

It looks dry, but is not. The mazda and honda drivers found out.

It must have iced up afterwards. I was in my truck with all-seasons and gunned it on calf-robe. It was definitely not icy at the time.

They probably sprayed that fucking beet juice on it, which I find causes problems at these temperatures.

I’d say the opposite was true today. It wasn’t icey, it was just cold pavement which is where studs have a harder time. Tis a performance winter kind of day.

Yeah I’ve driven about 150km around the city so far today and I don’t see any reason that it’s a stud day.

Zero ice on the drive this morning, no benefit to studs today so far.

I propose a street race circuit to determine whether a day is a stud day or not. If you can catch me in my 200hp slow ass car, it is not a stud day.
