Zero issues with the new winters, a couple trucks held me up going up the hill on 17th, slipping and sliding, appeared to be on ALL seasons.

Had a tire swap scheduled for this weekend but ended up doing it myself this past sunday.
I dont have studded anymore but the new winters are holding up just fine. Much more fun to drive with traction control off

Stereotypes reinforced themselves today… great skill though turning a 3 lane hwy into a 1 lane 30km/h school zone though

I help myself by not helping them and getting run-over by their dumb asses. I've been almost seriously injured attempting to help because people who get stuck usually have no idea what they're doing behind the wheel in that situation. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Nasty out there. Maybe it’s time for those studded nokians lol a right turn from a dead stop at the lights (12 ST NE next to St. George drive by the zoo) almost did a 180 with my blizzak ws90 and awd! That made me sad haha

There might be some of that, but then there is just dumb. This one guy here putting salt down is blocking dozens and dozens of cars getting through. Should have turned around to go back home. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

The level of idiocy on r/Calgary reddit is amazing regarding the driving.

I'm actually curious how many days studded tires are really useful in Calgary. So I'm going to start keeping track of the days.
I'll update this every day I feel studded tires are worth it.2022-23 Winter Season Studded Tires Advantage so far: 1
Days Details: Nov 2

I just drive around the slow idiots. They might honk at me as I do it but they're a spec in my mirror after 30 seconds anyway lolol
Can you track where days with AWD are useful too. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I LOVE this idea, keeping a tally is a great idea. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
My gut feel is that it's under 10 days per winter in Calgary, and on most of those days, the difference between decent winters and studded winters is pretty subtle.
Now the number of days that good winters beat all-seasons is a MUCH higher number.

I'm comparing 2 cars really. Sienna with Hakka 13s or whatever last years were, and E53 with Michelin PA5's which are the bottom end of performance for actual winter use. So yea, the van needs to beat the convertible considerably to count as a day. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Today is easily one. I had a hard time stopping at a few really bad places in the E53. Didn't even engage ABS in the Sienna.
