Also those ratings are horseshit. They only test for acceleration on snow, not turning, braking, or ice performance.

Yeah I always found it amusing that my mud terrain tires were perfectly adequate by BC standards despite being worse on ice than your average all-season.

^^^Day 4 today imo. Deerfoot to DT from the nw burb was pretty decent but heading back to my shop it looked like a skating rink on deerfoot from memorial to 64.

Haven’t driven out far (yet) but I’m going to guess with temps colder than yesterday, that’s an easy yes. Not bad in residential, lots of packed snow here that’s not terribly icy. It’s the main roads that were problematic last night.

Saw an all season driver creeping to a stop sign at 5kmh intending to roll it, then hit their brakes when they saw someone coming and slide a full car length into the road like a curling stone. So yeah, today was a stud day, the morning at least. The sun may have softened up the packed ice by now

I went to UVic for undergrad and saw plenty of nice cars with N's on them. Probably the most noteworthy was a continental flying spur.

My had snow tires from driving out there from Calgary for school. He was the DK of Cordova Bay.
