My contact at TransAlta says they have now "fixed" the outflow at Ghost reservoir at 260 cubic meters per second, and that the reservoir is rising about an inch an hour currently. Ghost Reservoir has over 6 meters of depth available before it's "full". It's got a lot of capacity there, and should help mitigate the worse runnoff from Bow, Ghost, Waiparous, Spray and Kananaskis rivers.

bow river at Calgary HAS NOT GONE UP SIGNIFICANTLY. Flood defenses upstream HAVE NOT YET HELD ANY WATER BACK.

I reiterate that this is a compelte nothingburger.
Most reports say it'll peak tomorrow not today. And it's hard to say it hasn't gone up significantly The last reading [blue dot] was 1.93 metres which it's only hit twice in the past five years. By no means is it out of control but the way you're talking sounds like the river is empty still.

Nothing will reach what they thought would be the worst case, which was actually similar to the 2005 event (not the 2013). The Bow River peaked at 350 cms this morning (the 2013 flood was 2400 cms), and is actually starting to decline this afternoon. On top of that water levels are only 0.5m above normal water level, which is actually still less than a 1:5 year river flood event. The sunnyside dykes are just over 2 metres above normal water level. If they actually saw 2005 levels then the dyke in Sunnyside was at risk of being breached.

The reservoirs all performed beautifully, Elbow is in great shape. Also, the rainfall is about 1/3 of the 2013 event over a much longer timeframe.

Certainly not a nothingburger, but maybe not to the extent of the reaction. Either way, I am more than happy to undertake an abundance of caution as opposed to being caught with your pants around your ankles.

Please keep your units of measurement consistent, preferably using the universally accepted banana standard

Highwood River is at 200 cubic meters per second and rising. Forecasted peak is 400-500 cubic meters per second there. That's certainly past the banks in many areas and officially "no fucking around" levels of water. GG to high river and others along that river.

I think I have made my feeling about people who live in a place called high river very clear

In general I agree with you. Living within 10m vertically of any river is pretty wild, but very popular.

Rain stopped in the durrrrty south about 30 mins ago and the road and sidewalks are all dry from out my window thanks to this wind. Also my patio furniture is all over my back yard and my aspens are missing about 25% of their leaves but we are surviving the great Hurricane of 2022 down here.

Blue/Green/Black Bins are all over the street, and it's not even a collection day.

100' tree snapped at the trunk and crushed a car in a parking lot by our office. Didn't think it was that windy.

So windy in downtown and just outside it.
    Power outage inner city areas.

Happy city cut out my two dead trees on my property before they became an insurance claim.
