I have zero desire to ever use the dungeon bathroom... its strictly for the in-laws. I wasn't planning on heated floors, change my mind.
Put a steam shower in it.

save $$$ on heated floor by buying $4 bamboo flip flops from T&T for inlaws. Spend said $$$ on guns and ammo or beers.

Don't forget that you can save hundreds of dollars (maybe even $200) by not getting permits.
That's a top money-saving tip that will def not come back to bite you vigorously in the urethra.
Just don't sell until you are ready to go into old folks home.

To add to this, if you were ever thinking of adding a sub panel to your garage for EV chargers, welders, lifts, tools etc now would be the time to either run the 6/3 wire (if you can find any without going bankrupt) or at least conduit so you can fish it later. HD is selling it for $24/m which is insane but I am sure you could find it for around $14-17/m on a cash sale. I'm searching for a better deal than HD and can report back on what I found if thats something that interests you.
I've got 6/3 NMD I'll let go for $17/m. Let me know

It'll help for resale. Also heated tile flooring costs almost nothing these days. It added $300 to my project.

Cold tile freaking burns the bottom of feet. Warm slippers a must. Downright uncomfortable. Cost is minimum as above. . Do it.

Basement bathroom will be used more than you think. When you are in basement with kids playing and you have to pee you will be going there. Also kids will need a place to wash hands after whatever mess they get in to. Make it nice.

I have heated floors in my basement bathroom but if i did it again, I'd run the mat into the shower area to heat the tile in there as well.

Not a must have. I have one and it's occasionally nice but not a big deal to me.

We have one... its electric and I fucking hate it. Garage won out over main floor gas fireplace.

Gas fireplace in basement gets rare use. Not necessary. Especially if you got that spray foam action.

    Temporary thread diversion

I have a out 200 sqft of rawdog unfinished concrete floor in my basement utility room and storage room. Can I slap down a couple coats of something like this
    https://www.homedepot.ca/product/epo...78l/1001221453

Without etching? Im thinking about just cleaning floor and then applying this as it only going to see foot traffic. Thoughts?

Drives me f'n nuts when I go in there and come out with concrete dust on my socks

You can just use regular exterior paint on concrete.

This. Just paint it as it would have the same final effect but have way less pissing around.
