When my wife found out about it she said that this is one F1 race she would be willing to go to.

I'm hoping that the weekend can include this, a Raiders game, and a golden knights game!!

That was my first thought too when I saw that it was a Saturday race. The strip is going to be wildly expensive that weekend.

No doubt. I’m probably want to jump after seeing mclaren be a backmarker again.

So which city is losing their race to accommodate this?

So do we know exactly which weekend in November this will be? If so, I am going to book my accommodation and flights now and bother with the F1 tickets when they announce.

I would want to go to Austin again as well - that was so much fun (minus the commute to and from the track on race day).

The rumour is Thanksgiving, but I can't see that being a good date to draw in crowds as everyone flies home and watches football. There's no other sports that operate on US thanksgiving for a reason.

Most hotels don’t book over a year out unfortunately unless you have a hookup

What's the crowd control like in Monaco? I can't imagine they shut off the strip for pedestrians during that time.

Apartment owners in Monaco can rent out their apartments for the day through normal ticket sale sites or request tickets for guests. Access is quite controlled but the layout of the track and access is quite different from Las Vegas.

F1 has thier business in control. There will be ZERO free viewing of that race.

I just think it begs the question of how do you shut down such a large stretch of the strip to pedestrians for the better part of a week? Force people to walk down the back sidewalks of Sinatra Drive? That stretch just one block east of the strip is a little dicey too.

if you can shut down monaco, you can shut down the strip.

This is the type of thing Vegas is built for.

The plan is to keep the strip open to pedestrians (aside from the pedestrian bridges). No idea how that's possible, maybe tunnels under the grandstands?
