I was listening to the Checkered Flag podcast earlier this weekend and they played an interview with Max. There was a bit where he sort of said that his approach from madly sending it into corners and forcing other drivers to make way to realizing that a points finish is also a important. I would argue that the former approach probably had more to do with the fact that Lewis had more to lose than he did up to that point. Now that he is the champion, he may be changing his tune to the latter.
    [ x ] doubt

He’s been driving this way from the start regardless if he’s in any WDC or even race win fight. I mean, Hamilton was like this in his early days too, not as extreme but elbows out everywhere. Hamilton eventually you don’t need to drive that way every single time. Calculate the risk and do it when it’s to your advantage.

Leclerc is the same way, we just don’t notice it much as he’s not fighting up front regularly. If there’s a tight wdc battle between him and max, I’m getting fat from popcorn this year.

Hamilton stopped being like that because he had a dominant car for most of his career.

The moment that RBR started to actually become a threat from a car perspective, he went right back to it. Silverstone, Albon, etc.

    They're ALL dicks.

Great race by mags, he has to get a lot of respect for keeping the car in the top ten. We will probably see a lot of failures in the coming races but Ferrari has a super fast car.

Some people would prefer if all the drivers in front of their guy would nicely pull onto the shoulder and wave them past. Who needs to race, just gimme the trophy.

Can I still return my mclaren lego?

Good race by haas and alfa. Shitty for red bull but merc then got the best result they could hope for. Supposedly the part that failed on both RB was the spec fuel pump so that is pretty shitty if that is the case.

I'm rooting for Ferrari this year as well, I haven't been this excited for an F1 season since I first got into it due to the Commodore 64 F1 racing game back in the late 80s in the Prost/Senna/etc years. Hopefully we get another 1988 Monza like Ferrari 1 and 2 finish repeat to come this year. I still remember the crowds rushing the field like a college football game when that happened. Good times.

I'm not sure how to feel about the Haas thing - I feel bad for the kid (not his father), but I understand how impossible it'd be to have a major sponsor with such close ties to Putin right now, it'd be a death sentence for the team.
HAH! Ferrari 1-2, woo woo wooooooo.

Sorry, had to get that out of my system.

What a crazy race, bodes well for an interesting season IMO. Very shit luck for the RB motors, I hope it's something that isn't repeated, I hate to see drivers robbed over mechanical issues and failures of their cars like that.

I was happy to see Yuki's result, he's my favorite driver, and I was also pleased to see Stoll's finish too, good Canadian driver IMO.

Hey Rage2, about the new rules and the give space deal being at the apex and not the entry, do they specify which apex, the geometric or the late apex? Also in a hairpin 180 corner, the apex can be in an effed up position - these rules, I must suggest are way to open too interpretation, along with the "give back" deal in the new rules.

Have any links for a better explanation, I can't find anything decent in my F1 bookmarks.

Anyhow, FERARRI!!!! What a great start, 1-2 finish, just like my favorite race of all time (see quote). Good times.

Just a summary. Not sure if the rules are a TD that we don’t see or what, but I haven’t seen the actual rules.

Putting someone in a position of move or crash is not racing.

Do you have a source that has more clarity on budgeting? With gasly car getting damage, what happens if enough damages occur and they can’t pay to repair it?

    Android?
I loved the trading places between those two , it bodes well for the rest of the season.

Android … it turned into a back of the pack Betty, as soon as that logo went on the car …

Was busy all weekend and didn't get a chance to watch until late Sunday night.

Happy to see Lewis ahead of George; RBR double DNF; Charles out race Max.

Surprised to see Haas 3rd in the constructors; Zhou Guanyu points in his 1st race.

Sad to see McLaren at the bottom.

It's Haas' first time to be in top 3 ever, not even for a single race.

Zhou getting points early vs MSC gotta hurt
