Might not be the fastest or most passing track, but Monaco has very little margin for error. That's why I like it. 1 moment of innatention and they are in the walls. Which makes the races and quali that much more interesting
More like one fuckup at the pits can change everything. Ask Chuck or Danny Ric

Sounds like you like having a train run.
    Only if McLaren benefits.

    Hilarious pettiness.

Was wondering why Hamilton backed off at the end. Screwed by Alonso and Ocon? Give them some payback.

Bottas' race engineer even said that they owe Hamilton a beer in the post-race radio comms.

Haha. That's awesome. I remember thinking they should do that when I was watching the race. Glad they actually did it.

Maybe its time to move on from Monaco. Lets not kid ourselves. The race on Sunday was not very good. The track does not suit the modern F1 car at all.
On reflection...it was shit. Monaco has its glitz and glamour. But I have to agree with some parts of this video. I would prefer another european track with actual racing.

The track doesn’t suit old cars either lol.

These cars were 1/2 the size of todays cars, and the Williams was a good 3s a lap faster than the McLaren at that point in the race.

So it’s settled. We replace F1 with nitro karts?

Just picturing 3 karts wide in Monaco lol

The F1 calendar is bigger than it’s ever been. If people don’t like Monaco then just don’t watch that weekend IMO. It’s very different from all the other races even if you’re not a fan. And people still need to remember that partial wet races tend to be rather dull besides crashes anyways. Having one dry line makes for a lack of passing on most tracks.

Only reason I could see it getting axed is because of the cost cap. Fabricating a one off steering geometry for Monaco hairpin is kind of a waste on a tight budget.

I have to say, I was keeping the kid entertained in childrens hospital and he loves watching racing, I clicked F2 just because he doesn't care, its just "cars!". I did find that to be the only real entertaining F2 race I've ever watched. The car sizes are well suited for Monaco, and some of the reliability chaos that ensues....damn. What a mixed bag of talent too.

If it gets the axe it will be because they don't want to pay the full fee to be in championship, create a boring race, and they control the cameras. i enjoy the practice and qualifying, the race just doesn't do much these days, maybe a 2-3 pit stop requirement might makes things better.

I quite enjoyed this logic... But I'm also no fan of the Brits in the Merc...

I like the karts idea... but I was thinking that most of these teams also have affiliated GT3 cars they could run.
Redbull could run an Audi R8 or Porsche GT3 R
    Ferrari and Haas 488GT3
    Maclaren 720S GT3
    Aston Vantage GT3
    Mercedes AMG GT3
    Alpine/Renault: Nissan Nismo GT-R GT3
    Alpha Tauri: Lambo Huracan GT3

Any car relying on aero are crap for racing. That said ground effects have made it better.

Yes, I saw that. But if you listen to the commentary (both during the race and post-race) it sounds like they had another moment that wasn't televised and no one was sure where the penalty came from.

I'm sure I could go find the decision and check the laps but either way, it was a pretty soft call if it was the incident I saw (here: https://youtu.be/qs4skHofmHA ). If they're going to be that tight throughout the year then fine but I guarantee they won't be.
Yeah I caught this in the rumblings a few days after I watched the race. Confusing when you just assume they would broadcast an incident like that, and they did show that front wheel clip from Ham getting too aggressive, and his incessant bitching about it on the radio after that. Was easy to just assume that was the penalty incident.

Lots of overtaking in MotoGP. Just sayin'.
My naivety does not extend far enough to ever think I could've been in MotoGP with the right upbringing. So can't get interested in it.

Would have been interesting to see how the cars raced without the rain this race. I think we would see a vast improvement since they can follow eachother much better now

If people are switiching off and not watching. Thats not good for sponsors, its not good for business and not good for income.
I don't know if Monaco will be a good income earner in the new ear of Liberty Media.
