Setup is part of the driver's fault/success, to get the setup wrong, it's partly on the driver. You dont think the engineers between the 2 garages share setup info? you dont think they go over how to setup each car? you are delusional.

The biggest difference in performance is that Russell got a tow from Lewis this week. Setups were likely different but the main reason was the tow.

Yea no shit. I am not saying he’s completely faultless. Of course it was partly his decision and they are obviously trying different things with the car. I am talking about people now suddenly saying he has no skill because of this one thing and that he’s a terrible driver when the fact is that Lewis Hamilton’s last Q1 elimination was Brazil 2017, when he crashed out. And before that the last time Hamilton was knocked out on pure pace (rather than due to wet weather or grid penalties) was Silverstone back in 2009.

He’s only fucking human at the end of the day but those are still some mental stats. Anyway, been reading that he may change his setup overnight and take the hit to start from the pit all together. Will be interesting to watch.
