I mean, shortening the delays in traffic court would be popular.

I think you massively underestimate how popular more ticketing of TSA violations is, not allowing those tickets to be overturned is a natural extension of that. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Overall, not doing this seems like the correct choice.

Probably, but I can't help but feel the only reason this isn't being implemented is because of a certain vote fast approaching an urgent need to appease people. I'll still take it as a win, even if it's something I'll likely never have to deal with. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

If they got rid of the ridiculous need to pay to fight your ticket, it would work well.
Curious to see what theyll replace it with, if anything.
The back log on traffic tickets for trial are going into 2024...
Paying to fight your ticket was the only part of it that made sense.

My ticket from August 2020 got pushed back in court again, this time until December…2023.
Isn’t providing you a timely court date a thing?

Should be. I don’t think they are going to be able to make this thing stick regardless, 40 months after offence date…This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Crown owes me a date by the end of March. Guess it will be in 2024 lol
Had my court date today. Prosecutor wouldn't cut me a deal on a bullshit speed on green on Barlow at the deerfoot inn. Went to trial and won because the sign had fallen over. You're still practically fucked trying to go to trial against two affidavits with no one to question. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Judge was probably in a good mood, so i got to keep my $170, waste some court time and pretend to be Shak for 7 minutes.
The Prosecutor almost LOLd when I tried to get him to withdraw based on my charter right to a trial within 18 months

This is kinda fucked, I got a ticket Jan of this year, my court day has now been pushed to may 2024. Is that fucking normal? It's a speeding ticket with no recorded speed on the ticket...
My ticket from August 8th 2020 went to trial this week finally on December 14th 2023. They cut me a deal and I was in and out in 8 minutes.
Y'all have a lot of demerits or what? I'm not beyond baller, but seems saving fifty bucks or whatever cannot be the only justification here.

Zero demerits still. I did have two on my license for a couple years but other than that I’ve been clean since 2013. I actually took the deal with no demerits and the same fine as the insurance hit would be significantly more than the fine these days. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. More than 1 ticket on your abstract kills insurance rates especially if you have more expensive cars. I’ve done the ROI on it, much cheaper to pay someone to fight and get 0 demerits and pay full ticket price than to leave it and get 3 years of insurance premium hikes. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. I got hit with 2 tickets on abstract, and over course of 3 years paid something like $1200 a year in premium increases across 3 cars. Painful because my ticket guy no showed. Twice.
