If you want to imagine a utopian future, any version that has high quality of life for everyone must have abundant cheap energy of some form.
Scarcity of nearly anything else is manageable if energy price is low.
Its one of the reasons that all government mandates which make energy artificially more expensive are doomed to failure.
I am an optimist at my core. I do believe that technology will drive down the cost of energy in the future as it has in the past.

The "problem" would be easier to solve, if people could stop conflating CO2 with pollution. People are so invested in this tinfoil hat conspiracy that the sun doesn't have anything to do with earth's temperature, that they forget to care about actual pollution we can control that's ruining our breathing air and drinking water. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. This should be rewatched.
Surprise. Your life expectancy drops as your energy consumption drops. So does your achievable education level.
Personally, I'd rather not burn cow shit to heat my home. No matter how green that is perceived.
