I’m just assuming the Chrysler guys were covetting his ridgeline in the shared parking lot like a pack of jawas

In all seriousness, I didn't even know there was a Chrysler dealer there. This is no word of a lie, I do not even see them....My eyes pass right over them. Same with homeless people and fat women.

Hard to differentiate a Chrysler dealer from any other strip mall.

    Same vehicles in the lot.

I do get people asking me why I would buy a Ridgeline instead of a half ton. I tell them because I didn't want a half ton.

Also, RLs are so uncool, they are cool. Rams and F-150s are just uncool.

This is exactly what is happening. RV Dealers are doing the same thing. I bought a trailer last year and there was a 5% surcharge if I paid cash. Basically forcing me to finance and they advised after 6 months I could pay it out. I agreed to the terms but the day after signing the loan paperwork TD finance called me to verify the details. I asked them at that point if I could pay it out without penalty after 6 months. They advised I could pay it out same day without penalty. So I paid it out and I'm assuming the dealer didn't get their kickback.
I am assuming this can only be done if the dealer is going through bank financing? If it’s in-house like Toyota Financing, the buyer will have to wait for 6 months.

I don't think any of the in house financing options are closed loans. I'm really not sure but yes I was referring to bank financing.

I thought that auto loans by law had to be open.

Means nothing. There's a reason GM confirmed the authenticity from the letter as they want angry consumers to know; "It's not us, it's them". Ford dealers have been doing this stuff for years and there are very few if any stories about them losing allocation or being reprimanded. They don't care at all and good luck getting a Z06 anywhere near MSRP.

We sold our 2019 Acura RDX A Spec for real good money about $8000.00 more than it would have been about a yr ago. Our 2022 Acura RDX A spec with only about $1300 more than we paid for our 2019 brand new plus got the 1% discount on our rate and $1000 Loyalty discount
