Looks great!
Big fat car needs bigger, fatter engine
6.2 swap incoming. Going to be NA this year and boosted next year.
It did indeed break a spring and drop a valve. These engines are really cool, SOHC hemi heads, 16 spark plugs, hydraulic roller rockers
Head is junk, I've sourced a good used one already
One piston trashed, bore can be saved with a dingle ball.
So cool cant wait to see progress done
Parts came in, started on the 6.2 today, replaced two dicked pistons and reconditioned the rest. Replaced one rod even though it was probably fine. Gave the bores a dingle ball.
Any aftermarket intake manifold options for the 6.2 or are you stuck with the OEM one?
I could build myself one. I'll see if the stock one fits first though, the long truck runners would make it very torquey and fun
Yeah I was assuming that hood clearance would be the issue, can't hurt to see if it fits!
Been chipping away at this, have the 6.2 built and mounts built and dropped it in this weekend. Still lots to do. Planning to run it on the stock PCM still with some trickery. The big truck intake may fit under the hood with some massaging or a small cowl.
Keep finding these damn simunition casings every time I work on this car. Pretty sure it lived at their training facility before it hit the auction. Fired on the left and unfired light strike/dud round on the right
She's a beefcake in there! How much heavier is the engine alone compared to the last setup?
I am excited to see this buttoned up!!
Ah maybe 50lbs tops, the old 4.6 was iron block too don't forget.
Coming along, made a rockauto order today for the last parts I should need.
Hood closes with some slight trimming of the structure.
Shoot, that's all the hood trimming that was needed? Mint!
I want every car you build and it's never the right time when you're selling lol good work.
Are those 3 new spot welds on the rib closer to the center? If so... Why was that needed?
Nope thats just the sealant goo they put on when building the hood so the 2 layers don't rattle against each otherThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Any updates on the build so far?
Took a 6 week break due to the shitshow of buying a house and moving and then going to Vegas for SEMA last weekend.
But was back at it today, swapped in a new rad and built a throttle body adapter. Tomorrow going to tackle the wiring and perhaps fuel lines.
Tomorrow edit:
Wiring done ish? Will see when I try and get it running next weekend.

Some much needed dopamine after my Explorer got rear ended this weekend:
Amazing.
