I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner, frankly. Prig of all people knew how ruthless Russian authorities can be and what Putin is capable of - especially when he's pressured.

It wouldn't surprise me if was a bomb on board. Or if it was someone in his own org vying for power. Or crappy Russian equipment maintenance - or the hand of God causing failure in order to remove unsavory world figures. Or maybe he's not really dead, and the "coup" and this death were fake perhaps with Putin's blessing for yet unknown reasons. I've given up trying to make sense of the details of this conflict. It's so fucked that I've nearly given up trying to anticipate where it is going, or how it's going to get there. Prig gets offed by his own side? Yeah... seems about par for the course...
