Can someone remind me which restrictions the federal government placed on the general public? The only two off the top of my head are:

-Vaccine mandates for federally regulated sectors
-PCR tests for international travellers

I'm being a little sarcastic, but mostly serious.

In many cases it wasn't that the federal government has placed a lot of restrictions directly on Canadians. The Federal government requirement for vaccination for suppliers and contractors was a problem, while having some accommodations is difficult to manage from a corporate standpoint. The only effective way to manage this is through company based vaccine mandates.

On top of this, at the start of the pandemic last year when there were hold out jurisdictions for mask mandates the federal government pushed it. They pushed it by tying any direct emergency funding to conditions. These conditions included the implementation of a mask mandate. I know this for a fact from my past coworkers with a Municipality in southern Ontario that was a hold out for a mask mandate. The agreement from the feds required council to have a mask mandate. What an underhanded way of the Federal government to push their agenda without having to be heavy handed about it, which they can be.

How about dodging any debate in the house of commons by forcing it to go mostly online when a number of our counterparts in the G7 are in their houses/parliaments? Then to top it off to float messages about vaccine mandates, demonizing people in our country and others.

The last thing that comes to mind is the creation of the Lockdown benefit in December. The only way that people could access this benefit would be through a Provincial lockdown. How much do you think that played into a Province's decision to lock people down, guaranteed money coming into your Province from the Feds. This is on top of the $600-900B dollars that they have spent and are not accounting their spending yet.

I could probably go on and think about further examples, but there are a number of issues that the Federal government is responsible for.

The current west>east convoy is in Kinburn, on, not really sure where because their intended stop did not support them and told them not to stay there.
