Trudeau is a broken record at this point. He keeps repeating that the way to get through the pandemic is vaccination. Almost nobody believes that anymore (because it isn't true). If he doesn't change direction soon, his own party who can see which way the wind is blowing are going to throw him on his ass.

The only way out for him that doesn't involve negotiation with the truckers is if there is violence - either legitimate, or agitators, to give him political cover to crack down with force. For now, child protective services taking 100 kids away or tear gassing kids will be an unforgivable black eye on the liberal party.

Otherwise, as far as I can see, he has no possible moves here. Between the trucks that are difficult to move, the families living in them, the refusal of many police to intervene and them continuing to turn a blind eye or collaborate with the truckers, and the refusal of tow truck companies to take the work, he is logistically screwed.

Now with the Windsor bridge blocked, the US is getting pissed. Trudeau asked Biden to reciprocate the ban, so Biden probably isn't that enthusiastic about keeping it if it becomes a headache for him.

Either he goes out kicking and screaming or he gets wise and changes course. He's got way less time than the truckers, that's for sure. The liberals have some great spin doctors but I don't think repeating lies indefinitely is a viable long term strategy. Especially when they are hilariously mismatched with the hundreds of hours of footage of the event at this point. It's only going to reveal to people how much they're being lied to.
