What I think this ruling does is further highlight and put a black eye on the creeping totalitarianism a select group of global elites have been attempting over the past several years.

Hell, even the elites in Davos at the WEF over the past couple weeks, met with a theme of "rebuild trust". Because more and more people are becoming aware of this attempted totalitarianism and removal of rights and freedoms, and they are sick of it.

Keep revolting kids! and make sure you hug your local conspiracy theorist as more and more they are being proven right.

Yea, so what is the likely outcome of this ruling?
The outcome will be that Trudeau and Co. will appeal this to the end of the earth and it will wind its way through the court system over the next 4-5 years.

I wonder if this can be used to introduce a confidence vote, and if so would it even matter? Even if the NDP continues to prop them up, siding with them on this issue now the courts has ruled might be good to peg them down even further.

I think the "rebuild trust" theme is the world (or US) is ending the globalization, the road we have been on since the 90s.

China is desperate for foreign investment. And everybody else is desperate to shake loose whatever freebies you can get of China or US because of the fight.

    It's nothing about freedom.

If poll keep Cons at 41 vs 27 for Libs, NDP is done the next election. Most NDP voters will vote Liberals to keep Cons out of the ruling gov.

PP need to stop spooking people with the end of BoC talks. Just follow Harper and less crazy shit.

Unless he thinks Carney is actually having a chance to replace Trudeau before next election and trying to piss on Carney's turf.

I know somebody who donated 20$ to this back when it was a convoy to bring attention to trucks getting pinched for vaccinations after doing the while pandemic without it. It blew up later on, but because he had put his name on the donation, people doxxed him and harassed him endlessly. He even got investigated for threats because these people were doing them with his name.

I don't know what is worse, the convoy people or the woke left.

Freeland doubling down on her decision in the press conference just showed how completely retarded and incompetent this Federal Government is.

Why wouldn’t they, it’s been well demonstrated Canadians are apathetic losers who won’t do anything no matter how badly they are getting screwed.

I’m not convinced there is any crime Justin and his team do juggalos could do that would lead to any actual consequences.

So when do taxpayers cut the billion dollar cheque(s)?

What other option did the government actually have when downtown Ottawa and various highways and border crossing were being illegally occupied, with no law enforcement doing their job? It cost the city of Ottawa around $62 million alone, caused the shutdown of various plants, including a Ford plant, which almost cost the loss of future Ford plants, etc. Transport Canada said that around $3.9 billion in trade was halted, although I'm not sure if all of it eventually was recouped on both sides. For all the money it cost, who pays for it, everyone?

I honestly don't know how anyone could support the convoy(s).

No the massive ongoing lockdowns of society actually improved the economy. It MADE money. Duh.

Their only option was to break the law to give themselves wartime powers? Wow. I did not realize it was that bad.

Biggest mistake the truckers did was not having feather indians around.

The border crossings were already cleared prior to the invocation. It affected Ford and Stellantis operations quite heavily, it kind of worked out for Stellantis as the plant was in a prolonged shut down at that time though anyway. Plus the OPP were moving from Windsor to Ottawa anyway to provide the resources needed to address Ottawa. So, the laws that currently existed allowed them to remove the blockades without the invocation of that act.

The honest question in all of this is that the organizers of the protest asked to meet with the Federal government to go over their concerns. Instead having an open dialogue the Federal Government chose to villify a large group of people. I may have been fine with a heavy hand if the federal government tried to have that dialogue and it went poorly or the protesters were acting aggressively.

The struggle for the Federal government was that it looked bad, and they had no jurisidiction over the authorities to address the situation and they would not move as expediently as they wanted them to so they felt the need to do this.

The most fucked up part was freezing bank accounts. Someone should freeze Trudeau's trust fund account.
