but it needs to, if people are getting reduced care for ANY reason, something needs to be done immediately, and reduction of the leading cause of hospitalizations, is the most effective way to fix it immediately.

As a long term plan, I'd be out there protesting for more medical funding, but i guarantee only 5% of this convoy, if that, would be there with me.

People understand the hospitalizations, they just don't want it to drive policy.

As preparing for future pandemics, I think it should be one of vectors to be considered to set a clear rule laid out when special measure needs to kick in. Instead of this fly by seat of pants thing we have experienced last 2 years in 11 different jurisdictions doing 11 different things.

And I think O'Toole should also engaged the protest leaders earlier, these are people CPC suppose to represent.

I think you’re forgetting just how little time had passed between the convoy arriving and O’Toole needing to bunker up to battle for his leadership. It was barely four full days between them showing up and him getting the boot, and most of that time was having swastikas and confederate flags all over the news, and connecting the leaders to groups like Proud Boys so even his forays to controlled parking lots for photo ops next to truckers were risky from an optics perspective.

Not being associated as the party that represents those people is the struggle O’Toole was trying to deal with. But they got rid of him anyway.

Funny he didnt have the support of people in the convoy anyway, he said he supported them, and then participated in a staged photo op in a secured area, before the convoy even got through manitoba, and tried to convince people it was the convoy leaders, and they called him out... so he just pissed everybody off with that stunt
