Default Tire pressure equalizing - what's the thing called?

hey, you know how some off-road people lower tire pressures when hitting the trails? I don't do that, but I'm looking for information on how they do it. There's some kind of device that screws into the valve-stem and lowers it to a pre-set level, i think. And maybe that thing actually connects two or four tires so that the pressure in each is exactly equal.

    What's that thing called?

I want my TPMS to show the same number on the dash to satisfy my OCD, and it's occurred to me that there may be a hardware solution here.

They're just called tire deflators. Pretty simple, not super accurate though.

My inflation system just uses an air hose that's been tee'd off to four locking tire chucks (like these) off a single regulator, so they are all inflated to the exact same pressure.

You put the four TPMS inside a chunk of PVC pipe and fuse caps on it with a valve. Pressurize it to 32psi and store it in the vehicle.
    Profit.

your tires will leak air at separate rates over time, combined with temperature differences and the accuracy of the sensors, I suggest you forget all about it.

as for 'airing down' or whatever, people I know use the back of the tire pressure gauge.

Hmmmm, so locking tire chucks and a hose and I can use one deflator or just manually control from there. Hmmmm.

This is the sensible answer, and probably the right solution. But maybe I just want to fuck around with it anyway.

All you need is a tire pressure gauge. When you partially put it on and push the valve stem it lets you air. Just keep doing that until you get down to the pressure you want. Then have a little air compressor that plugs into your cigarette lighter to refill your tires higher when you want to go that route. And just use the gauge to make them all match.

Compressed air comes out quickly. It only takes a minute to deflate a tire from 30 to 20 psi by poking the valve stem. Unless your talking something automated which seems overkill

Switch your dash units to Imperial instead of metric. Much easier to get them all the same.

That doesn't help as much as you think since the ford goes by increments of 5 kPa.

Are you looking for something like this?
    https://www.psitireinflation.com/how-it-works

Many service companies use these systems when driving lease roads/ highways frequently.

I may see about doing a DIY version of that Morrflate system. Have spent a lot of time adjusting tire inflation in my life, and even the two-tire system sounds like it would make it much easier. Plus tinkering with shit like this is fun until I get distracted and forget about it for 6 months.

    Anywhooo, thanks guise!

I want one of these. Even a DIY version like you have. Ideally with a pressure gauge built in, and maybe a release button?
