So it's not a menopausal wife opening all the windows in the house while the furnace is set to 23°c?

Mine doubled to $450
350 to 550 here Jan 2021 vs Jan 2022.
530$ for me with water / city fees
$430 for gas and electric here in edmonton on fixed rates. Carbon tax raised our bill by about $100 over last janurary with similar usage somehow.
Tap, Rack, BANG!
But think of all the platypuses we saved by paying that tax.
We still remit 100% of carbon taxes back to taxpayers in ‘Berta right?
Will nicely offset my real but hurt, namely federal income taxes.

My gas bill was 550.00, electricity 300 for December.
I saw some chatter that Kenny was looking at bringing back the energy rebates as prices go up. If he rebates the carbon tax on top of that, the feds reaction should be interesting.
Too loud for Aspen
$688 and I'm actually quite happy with this.
Sadly we don't actually get it back. Carbon taxes are simply a federal income tax rebate, a flat amount for every Canadian. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Yet in AB we'll pay more in carbon tax because of natural gas heating and coal / gas powered electricity than say QC which uses a lot more electric to heat via hydro power.
So AB likely pays more but all Canadians get a equal rebate. Such a shitty system.
Edit - NVR mind, didn't even realize I replied to Toma

I say stupid shit all the time.
No doubt. I was irate when I saw my bill was almost double this month. Everyone online is foaming at the mouth about distribution fees and whatnot. I went and actually examined my last 2 bills. Yup, still getting fucked by distribution, but no worse than any other time in the last 10 years. My electricity usage is up by 50%, which I assume is because of the huge space heater the wife was running in the bedroom during the cold spell. And gas usage was at least double, which obviously the furnace runs harder when it's cold out. Good, I can forget about this and hope it stays warmer going forward. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

60 days :
With some heavy mining and devil's lettuce flowering occuring
I'm not complaining. I paid almost that monthly in HR without needing to pay for electric heat.
My bill was overshadowed a tad by the cost of having to replace our furnace
