    Default RPR Cost

Just called the survey company that did original for our house, they quoted $695 to refresh it.

What prices are you guys finding for from scratch? Or for a refresh?

It's been many years since I needed one but that sounds about right for a refresh.

That's pretty much the going rate, just avoid ARC surveys if at all possible. A buddy and I used them this past summer and they were a pain in the ass, unorganized, took forever and not very responsive, they had 8 weeks to do mine and still managed to be late.

They forgot to send me mine lol, it was approved by the city like 2 days after they submitted it they said. She said they sent it then but they definitely didn’t, they sent it a month later when I finally called to ask.

That sounds a little more familiar to me as well. Although >4 years ago...

That seems pretty high for a refresh. I think we paid around $350 for ours, but that was 5 years ago.

Still likely a better deal than getting another company to do one fresh...

I'm shocked how cheap some of these are. It take a couple of hours for site visit by a skilled professional, plus a couple of hours for a tech or admin back at the office, and there's a legal liability for accuracy of the details. If that was my company it would be a thousand bucks all day.

TLDR, These are all good deals you cheap pricks.

This man is correct. Understanding how much goes into it, the prices are low. By some of the responses, so is the service. My guess is that paying a bit more will get better results than the volume providers and in a busy market like today it is likely a wise move.

No kidding. Not to mention dealing with one off clients over and over again.

Haha an RPR would be about 12 min of drafting.. Site time is what would cost the most. But i agree, when i got mine done at first i was like damn that seems pricey, then i thought about it if someone asked me to do it what it would cost and i didn't care seeing as how i do the same thing but different industry haha.

If I had to send a landscaper and a helper to a random location and then write a one page summary of their work when they returned, have that page notarized and put it in an envelope, I wouldn't charge less than $450 for that effort. I hope surveyors get paid more than landscapers, and I suspect stamping the drawing costs more than a notary.

Anyway, hope everyone gets good service no matter who they use.

Shop around. Don't necessarily go with the company that did the original or most recent survey. I just did one for my parents house before they sold last year with ARC. $495. Original survey company wanted $650 for a refresh.

PM me if you want to know personal opinion of companies to avoid as I am a surveyor, but no longer practicing.

If you have a friend who is a realtor, they usually have deals with survey companies also.

The ALS stamp and signature is what costs the money.

Anyone have any idea what getting one done from scratch would be? I've looked through the bundle of paper I received from my lawyer when we bought this place and I don't seem to have one. Just another of the many snafus from this purchase.

Not planning on selling but probably not a bad idea to have one for any landscaping etc.

mine was $475 with arc, then $250 for city compliance for the home sale.

Now that i realize the breakdown i feel like that's super cheap $475 for a site vist, drawing and stamp!

you didn't get a city compliance stamped RPR with your purchase? Bummer.

No point getting a new RPR until you want or need to get the new compliance stamp.

If you can find out who did the last RPR on the property (when you bought it) that company will usually keep it on file and can re-print it, they are not required to however and may charge or not want to re-print it either. Company name may be buried in the legal documents.

Cost should be around $490 plus tax and $170 for compliance.

Expect a 3 week delay for compliance, city is way behind.
