    Default $2 gasoline?

Solid trend, nothing coming down the pipe that would suggest that price will go down.

Holding just under a buck fitty right now. Toonie for a litre this year? Dun Dun duhhh.
    Cocoa $11,000 per ton.

More importantly, McDoubles now ring up at $3.03. The Wendys JBC is now a clear winner at $2.40, can get a pair of them and have a decent lunch for under 5 bucks.

The price of fuel and insurance is what’s keeping me in my current vehicles.

Buying fuel is a virtuous act now with all the carbon tax in it. So by extension conserving fuel is a sin.

    The math checks out.

Drive old junk and insure it with Hagerty for 150 a year. I'm looking to get rid of my bmw this spring but it costs me nothing to own and insure.

This is a bad time to be considering selling my Duramax and replacing it with another big block. But that's the mood I'm in right now.

Yah diesel prices are nuts. Almost on par with regular gas prices

I have a bad fpr and my mileage is suffering

Last time I filled up diesel was 150.9. I don't know what regular was, but a 454 would likely halve my mileage and I'm sure regular isn't 75 cents. Still though, I've got a week off the week after next and there's a 2000 crew cab 454 that if it's still for sale might end up being mine.

Here's hoping large used SUV's come down in price as gas goes up. Currently shopping for a large two row mechanical asshole in the sub $10k range just to get around these trash roads in the city. Small fuel efficient cars get swallowed by potholes.

One must actually shat in the pants for this to be a true indicator of value...

Ya, I picked up an old MB on a whim, turns out it's only going to be $123 annually haha.

Although, running costs could be $4k per year if stuff starts to go wrong, so I guess it all comes out in the wash.

I Yeah I've been thinking as well...

Get rid of my truck which is paid off but loves gasoline...and move to a smaller vehicle (SUV)..

Slightly lower gas consumption plus a payment (probably)...

Although as I drive a Dodge Ram, moving to something else might improve my driving skills...would have to sell the white sunglasses too though...

    Decisions decisions...

Isn't that fraud because of the use and mileage limits? It's all good now, but if something happens and they investigate?

IIRC, you're allowed 5k a year i believe and allowed to drive to work every so often. Just not allowed to daily drive

Yeah. That's why I ask. 5k is nothing, and the use they told me had restrictions, like repair, car shows, occasional pleasure drive. Definitely can't drive it to work. I actually had to prove I had a normally insured daily driver.

They investigate very thoroughly. A friend owns a body shop, and Hagerty apparatntly just denied a claim because the mileage didn't line up, so they've opened an investigation. They are well aware people abuse their policy.
