Computer dumb - needing to buy a new laptop

Hey Beyond, I need your help!
My old computer is finally slowly starting to crap the bed... I'm computer shopping and is super stressful as I have no understanding of any of the lingo and what it means and how it will benefit me as a user...

Looking around the $1000 - $1500 ish price point i think.
- Web based programs + surfing/socials
- No gaming
- Office suite / web conferencing
- Windows only
- Video editing
- HDMI port would be nice, but not a deal breaker if a dongle is needed (use quite a bit for hooking up to overhead monitors)

If you have any suggestions, or sell computers - will definitely come to you if you can help a guy figure this out!!

It’s too bad you’re windows only. I’ve completely abandoned windows for video editing. My $1200 MacBook Air completely destroys the most powerful windows desktop I’ve owned. Absolutely untouchable in the price point for video editing.

Are you running on Premiere? Had read some articles that said it's still not updated to take full advantage of the new chips.

Premier was updated last year for M1 native. It’s fast, but not as fast as Final Cut Pro which I’ve been slowly learning. Most of my editing is quick and dirty with iMovie though, just easier workflow for kids stuff.

Ended up with the Asus Zenbook 14.
Huge upgrade from what I had prior. Next one might be an apple aha.
