There's definitely some days at work when herding sheep in Iceland as a living seems like the better option

Moving to the head office would 1,000% be the play here.
    Underrated office perk.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

Yeah my neighbour has a software dev job in Mississauga and was entirely WFH. The company told them back in office so he ended up having to move there solo as his daughter is in grade 10 now and didn't want to move and he didn't want to quit. All those remote gigs are now RTO and if you don't move, then so long.
It's a great way to do layoffs without having to pay severance.

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

Considering the amount of garbage Apple, Microsoft and Google are spewing out these days, the effects are starting to be known. Like fuck, the only real differences between the iPhone 12, 13 and 14 are colours. And iOS is shittier and shittier. Ever notice that you can't cancel an incoming call from the lock screen? And that if you unlock the screen, you still can't?
Just hit the volume or power button to cancel. This is better than using a touch screen because you can cancel the call while in your pocket, without every having to look at the screen.

    Still close to 30%

Attendance rate of occupied office is around 70%?

Based on building access card data recently tracked by a landlord with Class A assets in the core, the report found between 65 and 70 per cent of employees attended office on Mondays. Attendance rises to between 75 and 85 per cent on Tuesdays through Thursdays, and dips to 65 to 70 per cent on Fridays.
Almost sounds like M/F off is still common in July.

    Surprised Friday was that high.

U of S opened a campus downtown which took some space.

When Shell moves that's going to empty out Shell Centre. Bye bye Cafe Artigiano.

    Blasphemy.
There is no crisis. Just speculators paradise. End that, end the "crisis".

Well they had a year of warning. Unless they signed too long of a lease. If it survived thru the lock downs and WFH years, they may survive this.

    lol

sure take a few bucks today, then 2 months from now you get to go in the office anyway because full time WFH is going the way of the dodo across the board and the next place you work will almost certainly be full time in the office.

Unless you are a quick bridge to retirement its a pretty dumb hill to die on
Work from home was and remains the norm for this industry....

    It's not that though

Yeah I see what you’re saying. But I don’t think people realize the contract doesn’t mean much - like it doesn’t specifically say the work rotation won’t change. It just says what it currently is, subject to change. It has to say specifically it won’t change, not the other way around.

That is how I see it, but of course I’m not an employee contract expert.
Yep. I'm picking up what you're putting down.

    Where’s Shell going to?

Did Imperial finish their Quarry Park campus?
