How to sort Olympic medal tables -

IOC and every other country in the world except US & Canada sort by gold. In theory you could have a country leading overall medal count and not win a single event. Silver & bronze are hard earned consolation prizes.

Winter olympics is just a dozen kinds of sliding as SNL said. Watching a single bobsled run is enough for me.
