I think a lot of beyonders have been giving that advice for the last few years.

My wife took delivery of a 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 (Long Range, RWD, Preferred in White) 2 weeks ago.

Got it early because dealer fucked up and ordered the wrong car, So they managed to get me someone else's cancelled order (we originally ordered it in the shooting star matte grey/black). We also installed a Flo G5 charger at home (32amp).

The car is white. Electric. Has no soul.

Yeah we'll post a review and some pics at a later time. I will say a few observations off the bat,

Positives so far, very quiet cabin, smooth ride (soaks up bumps very well), and quite fast from a roll (off the line it is slow). The heat pump is a nice feature and allows us to heat the cabin without sucking a lot of power (you can still turn the heater on separately). I think it's a really good looking car. It does get a lot of looks on the road or when parked. Range seems to be reasonably accurate so far (my wife only drives 20km round trip to/from work each day).

Negatives so far, for a $53K car the interior is fairly cheap feeling in some areas (lots of hard plastics) and weirdly premium in other areas (the door armrest is strangely nice but the rest of the door is a cheap hard plastic). Not having a rear window wiper is a fucking stupid design (we bought a squeegee and keep a spray bottle with windshield washer fluid to keep in the back).

That would be really disappointing to have an EV that's slow off the line; immediate power from a standstill is one of the main fun-factors for them. Must be some kind of lame programming to appease soccer moms?

Sounds like Ioniq 5 same as EV6 in Canadian spec then, comes with both heat pump and resistive.

First choice would be a taycan of some sort, but realistically I’d take the lighting if it was possible to actually get one soon.

I think the concept of the thread is stuff you could actually afford.

Some of the journalists are saying they like the Audi RS better than the Taycan. I figured they’d be the same.

im not sure why you would pay more for one electric car over another.

    Well there's something new.

Usually you are very sure of things you know nothing about.

Not at all. Specifically stuff that was available and not imaginary product.

The Audi is definitely better looking. I don't think Audi and Porsche share platforms.
